INRacing have just returned from another successful outing at the prestigious Goodwood Revival, all 12 cars successfully completing their respective races.
Tony Wood was the pick of the drivers with a Madgwick Cup pole position and hard fought victory in the Lister Bristol. William Nuthall had a troubled time in Graham Burrows’ historic Connaught ALSR, battling from the back of the grid, due to electrical trouble in qualifying, before being hit by the bonnet and pitting twice to finish 19th out of the 30 starters.
The TecMec also piloted by Tony Wood finished 2nd in the Richmond Trophy which included great battles between Ian Nuthall (Alta), Steve Russell (Cooper Bristol) and Barry Wood (Cooper Bristol). William Nuthall was driving the HWM Alta still owned by HWM Motors for the first time and the tricky conditions in qualifying led to him out qualify much newer more powerful machinery which he could not keep with in the dry race conditions.
The Woods RGS Atalanta came through the dark, wet, miserable Friday night race conditions to finish a respectable 9th in the Freddie March Memorial Trophy.
William Nuthall was one of three qualifiers to lap at 100mph + in the Gordon Trophy in Giorgio Marchi’s Cooper T53 and was running a solid second before being slowed by split oil and went to 4th less than 1 second from 2nd place. Miles Griffiths ending the race winning by a distance. Paul Griffin (Cooper T51), Ian Nuthall in John Saunders Cooper Maserati and Stephen Bond (Lotus 18) all enjoyed busy races.
During the Goodwood Revival 2013, the father son pairings of Ian and William Nuthall, and Barry and Tony Wood were filmed and interviewed by Canadian production crew and will be appearing in a documentary in 2014.
