Donington Historic Festival May 2013

Stephen Bond competed in both the Motor Racing Legends run Woodcote Trophy and Sir Stirling Moss Trophy races at the Donington Historic Festival 2013. During the Woodcote Trophy race for Pre 56 cars, Stephen moved up from 12 on the grid to finish 7th and a great second in class in the INRacing powered Lister Bristol.

Sunday was the turn of the Sir Stirling Moss Trophy for Pre 61 cars therefore the Lister Bristol was likely to be further down the field. However he stormed through the field to a fantastic 8th place after finishing 19th in a damp qualifying session.

VSCC Spring Start Silverstone April 2013

Long established as the Historic Grand Prix Car Associations season opener, the VSCC Spring Start at Silverstone was in 2013 extended over 2 days for the first time. Following on from the HGPCA test day on the proceeding Friday it was a busy weekend for INRacing, with a number of freshly rebuilt cars being driven for the first time.

In the HGPCA race for pre-1966 Grand Prix cars, William Nuthall secured a pair of 3rd places in Giorgio Marchi’s Cooper T53. Paul Griffin was out for the first time in his Cooper T51 and finished a fantastic 3rd in Class, whilst adding a couple of signatures to his licence.  The ex-Moss Lotus 18, driven by Stephen Bond was again out to the delight of the crowd.

The pre-1961 front engined Grand Prix cars were out in the VSCC Amschel Rothschild Race.  Tony Wood fought hard in the Tec Mec, racing ever closer to the Scarab of Julian Bronson, however despite securing the fastest lap had to settle for third place in both the Saturday and Sunday races. INRacing did not have quite a full complement of four Cooper Bristol’s in the race as the unfortunate Nick / Rosie Eden car ended up back at the workshop. This left a great race between the three remaining cars of Paul Grant, Barry Wood and Steve Russell.

The Lister Jaguar of Barry and Tony Wood was running as high as 2nd in the two driver 1950’s Sports Car race, eventually finishing a close 4th. The race also included a great performance from Stephen Bond and Keith Fell in the beautiful looking and sounding Lister Bristol.

Sundays races were shown Worldwide on Motors TV with some great footage of both Tony Wood and William Nuthall.
